When Is The Best Time And Type Of Food To Eat Before A 3 To 4 Mile Run, When Running For Weight Loss?
I have been eating a peice of fruit and a pria bar about 3 hours before my workout, and a small potato roll about 15 minutes before. I want to fuel my body with the best things at the right time for a great run. I am working out/eating healthfully as a means to maintain previous weight loss and continue to lose more.

I would cut out the potato roll and go for a very small piece of fruit (half an apple, a few strawberries, raisins, etc.), and a little water or caffeine. The caffeine will rev up your metabolism just a little bit more and give you a push for a longer run.
Actually you should run on an empty stomach so as to avoid any cramping. I used to run about 4 mi. daily, and I never needed a snack during or before the run. I did eat shortly after the run, though.
Also start reading Runner’s World magazine. It’s a great resource.
