A few years ago I had a cyst removed from my breast. I was convinced it was cancer (Even asked the specialist how he knew it wasn't cancer!) I was told that cancer is very hard and feels like a stone, whereas the lump I had was softer. If your girlfriend is still worried she should go back to the Dr and ask to be referred to the breast clinic in your local hospital.
