Should I Get The Hpv Cervical Cancer Vaccination?

I had a polio jag last year and I got really freaked out about it, but being honest it actually went ok. But now I have my HPV jag on monday and I’m scared, after hearing on the news a few days ago about a girl dying from the jag (yes she had other health conditions) and several others being left ill, sick and in the worst case paralyzed for a few days. Do you know if the jag will hurt or if these side affects are likely to happen? Thanks

Neither the death nor the paralysis incidents, though both terrible, are thought to have been caused by the vaccine. You also need to remember that about 700, generally youngish women, die each year as a result of the terrible cancer.About 70% of these will be prevented by the vaccine.
The injections themselves are very trivial and significant reactions rare.

I had my first HPV vaccination a week ago. I don’t worry about injections but I already knew I was a bit of a ‘fainter’.
The pain was extremely minimal, if you don’t normally feel queasy after injections then the HPV is really no different.
Unfortunately when I felt my arm going numb, no differently to any other injections I’ve had, but which I always find to be a really bizarre feeling, I fainted and then was sick. I felt pretty dodgey for a bit, but I honestly believe that was just a personal reaction to a general injection as opposed to specifically the HPV injection.
As I already mentioned, if it’s simply the pain of the injection that you think would normally bother you, I didn’t find that to be a problem at all. Very little pain.
Don’t worry about it, it’s not a problem at all!

it hurts for the rest of the day, but just don’t poke it! had it last year + some people were ill, but worst was someone fainted. that was it. just think though that that was the first death and like 1,000,000 jabs have been done, so its not a high risk. at all. eat before then you’ll be less likely to faint.
YES you should have it! better off in the long run.

she didnt die from the jab, she was dying anyway. I don’t think any injections hurt, and I can’t see this one being any different. The side affects happen to about 1 in 100 if not less, so no they aren’t likely to happen. It’s scare-mongering by the media to make everyone forget about swine flu

at first it does hurt especially the last. Afterwards your arm is a little numb but that is all.
I had mine done earlier this year.
    It’ll be fine. :)

    You need to relax hun!
You will not die, i promise. If you do then you can come back and haunt me! lol!
As everyone has said and you pointed out, she died of another disease.
If you have already had the first then the second will be fine!
You just need to relax and tell the person doing the jab if you have any allergies as it has been said that some vaccines are made inside an egg.
Someone else mentioned someone fainting…really don’t worry about that as it was probably as they were afraid of needles or something (shamefully enough i have fainted before).
You need this jab as it is not stopping you getting the cancer but protecting you from the main cause of it. The main cause (don’t know any names of it) is carried by males and you can catch it from sexual interaction. Even if you are protected you can still get it from the touch. Be safe, not sorry. To be honest i recon we should just be rid of boys…problem solved and no needs. lmao!!
good luck hun and relax! xx
