Before she does do some research on how this is causing serious side effects reported in the US including PARALYSIS!

Under current guidelines, your daughter would have to pay for the vaccine privately. If she is not sexually active then it’s a good idea she has this vaccine. The reason why the NHS are not offering the vaccine free to over 18s is simply because in today’s society most girls over the age of 18 are sexually active and the HPV vaccine will not protect you from any strains of HPV one may have already some into contact with. It was considered not to be cost effective.

Just reading some of the answers above; of course I accept that everyone is entitled to their opinion, but some of the negative opinions regarding the vaccines are not based on actual proven fact. Thousands of girls have had this vaccine and of the few severe reactions that have occurred, NONE have been conclusively linked to either of the HPV vaccines.
Cervical cancer is a silent cancer. Worldwide it kills almost 300,000 women per year. Even if cervical cancer is caught in time, often it will not prevent the mutilating surgery that has to be carried out in order to save your life. I urge people to reasearch the proven facts of this vaccine and not listen to nonsense in the Daily Mail and such like.
I do understand peoples apprehension regarding it, but the benefits do outweigh the rare risks.

This vaccine does not prevent cervical cancer.
It only prevents 4 strains of HPV and it can only do that if you have not been exposed to them already. This can decrease the risk of cervical cancer, but does not prevent it.
I live in the US so I have no idea what the NHS does, but I would think you would be allowed to pay for it if you wanted it.
Your daughter is an adult and therefore should be able to ask her doctor herself.

Contrary to the other answerers I’m not sure it is… regardless of whether your daughter has had sex or not. It is generally given at schools, and at the moment it is being offered to 12-13yr olds. It will be offered to 17-18 yr old as well, so all girls have the jab before leaving school. But I can find no confirmation that your daughter will be eligible.
The best thing to do would be to phone your doctors surgery tomorrow and ask; I hope for your daughter’s sake it is, but i’m not confident it will be.

Don’t pump it into her body without knowing the ingredients, you look at food labels don’t you? It’s every parents responsibility to do their own research rather than being receivers for medical lies.

It’s the same with all vaccines, children’s too, can’t you see the huge increase in autism and other learning difficulties. Do some research, the benefits do not out weigh the risks. It will be 15 years before they can prove that they prevented even one case of cervical cancer. But, the injections have already caused 27 deaths and 10,000 life changing adverse effects.
How will you feel if your child dies next week?

HPV can be transmitted without sex. Just skin to skin contact or transfer of fluids (kissing is still being debated as a possible cause). My child pediatrician recommended the vaccination at 16.

I’m 12 and our school gave it to us but since your daughter’s 20 I’m assuming she could go to her GP.
