Mental Health/women’s Hormonal Health/fatigue/lack Of Motivation?

I am almost 50, female, and discouraged. I have suffered for many years with chronic fatigue syndrome but it has worsened in last few years-once I got over the initial onset after having had mono. I’ve been on every imaginable anti-depressant and even been to a psychiatrist who gave me tons of pills. Had hysterectomy in late 06 & things got worse. Found to be estrogen dominant w/little or no progestrone/testosterone so now on bioidentical hormones. Felt terrific after first testosterone implants but wore off quickly, got more but still NO MOTIVATION which has been my biggest problem. Also taking small estrogen and 200 mg progesterone daily. Levels seem to be up to normal. Quest: why can’t I feel motivated? I am not depressed. I just don’t have any desire to even get out of bed. Thought hormones were answer-been 4 months, new dosage & implants… no real improvement any more. Any ideas? PS no real stress in my life. good husband, one grown child, great job…

You need something new in your life to motivate you…you stated that you are not depressed, but can you be bored? I can relate to your symptoms and there are days I DON’T get out of bed, in fact sometimes there are more than 1 day I stay in my pj’s….and my meds don’t motivate me and I too have a wonderful husband and two grown up out of the house kids. For me it’s a “purpose” thing, for you it may be the same…think about it…are you more motivated when something exciting is going on and you feel great that day? If so, I’m right.
