I’m Looking For Information On Women’s Health, Specifically Info On Abnormal Menstrual Cycles.?
I have experienced long (a month) cycles and extremly large blood clots. Sometimes I only spot other times my flow is so heavy that I soil my clothes.

I am responding as a nursing student and future medical student. WHat you are describing sounds like the condition called Hypermenorrhea which is simply abnormally long and heavy flow. Several people are diagnosed with this and are urged to use birth control or several other methods to make it easier and limit the bleeding. I would advise you to seek out or GY doctor and present them with your symptoms. There are several comfort treatments you can receive so you do not have to experience the bleeding.

you might have something cancerous. you should go to a ginacologist (sp?). a friend of mine had that and it was a tumor.
i dont mean to scare you, but you should go to the doc.

having blood clots ain’t good thing, means that your linings is building up on “old blood” from the previous flows. better seek medical advice.

I was having a similar problem and found out it was fibroids. I had the fibroid surgically removed. You need to go to your doctor and take care of it. I let this go on for about a year and I happened to take a blood test and found out that I was EXTREMELY anemic, they were ready to do a blood transfusion. You need to get it taken care of. Look at http://www.fibroids.com for more info about fibroids.
