If God Loves Everyone Equally Why Does He Bless Some People With Beauty While Making Others Unattractive?
If God loves everyone equally why does he bless some people with beauty (giving them the advantage and almost guaranteed acceptance throughout their lives) while making others unattractive?

Jesus loves the little children
All the little children of the world
Red and yellow, black and white
They are precious in his sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world
Everything is beautiful
In its’ own way
Like a starry summer night
Or a snow covered winter’s day
Everybody’s beautiful
In their own way
Under God’s heaven
The world’s gonna find a way
There is none so blind
That is he who will not see
We must not close our minds
We must let our thought be free
For every hour that passes by
You know the world
Gets a little bit older
It’s time to realize
That beauty lies
In the eyes of the beholder
Everything is beautiful
In its’ own way
Like a starry summer nights
Or a snow covered winter’s day
Ah, sing it children
Everybody’s beautiful
In their own way
Under God’s heaven
The world’s gonna find a way
We shouldn’t care
About the length of his hair
Or the color of his skin
Don’t worry about
what shows from without
but the love that lives within
We’re gonna get it all together now
Everything gonna work out fine
Just take a little time
to look on the good side my friend
And straighten it out in your mind
Everything is beautiful
In its’ own way
Like a starry summer nights
Or a snow covered winter’s day
Ah, sing it children
Everybody’s beautiful
In their own way
Under God’s heaven
The world’s gonna find a way
One more time
Everything is beautiful
In its’ own way
Like a starry summer nights

Well first off I’ll assume you are referring to a Christian god since you didn’t specify. Now with that in mind I believe he did bless us all with beauty. Or at least our own beauty. But the problem arises when we humans start trying to define beauty for each other when clearly not everyone likes the same thing. Not to offend anyone but some people find large or heavy women to be repulsive whereas a long time ago the more curvy a woman was, the better she looked.(For example look at fertility statues of women from cultures around the world.) Or once upon a time in some cultures if a man had chest hair and a beard he was considered to be an “adonis” but in current American spotlight you’ll rarely see a male “model” with hair anywhere but on top of his head. You also have to factor in that looks fade in time where as what you have on the inside will not.

God’s ways are not man’s ways and real beauty comes from within. There is beauty in everyone when you look through the eyes of the Lord. If things were the way the should be, everyone would be accepted no matter what they look like in appearance. It is the ways of man that gives people that are beautiful to the natural eye the advantage. The Bible speaks of Jesus just being a plain and ordinary man nothing outstanding about him, but He is still beautiful to me. I am sure there is a good reason why some are more attractive than others, but we really are equal in that sense. Some of the most beautiful people can also be not so beautiful on the inside too.

God loves all equally, but made some responsible of more than others, but all have something. Remember the parable of the talents where one man had five, another two and another one. Each had even though not all had the same. God expects us to use what we have been given. Some He gives a great voice and others the gift of painting. Some healthy children or great jobs. Each has something, but we are responsible for what we have been privileged with.

Maybe you should consider that since:
#1 – God knows us best and what we will learn, grow and endure best – then He blesses us with what WE personally need in this life to get there
#2 – God knows & loves our spirits totally & completely… I doubt that in our truest, perfect spiritual form ANYONE is ugly.
#3 – Beauty or Ugly is IN THE EYE of the beholder…. SOCIETY is the judger!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I believe we are all beautiful to God. Otherwise, why WOULD he make you look that way.
Why doesn’t He make us all attractive in the eyes of other people?
Well I prefer to think that some of us need to learn to make our inward beauty shine on the outside.

Unattractiveness is subjective to the person looking. Your idea of unattractive, is attractive to someone else. Thus, God didn’t make anyone unattractive. He just made judgemental people.

Who`s to say what beauty really is. They say it`s in the eyes of the beholder. The people on other Planets probably think we are ugly.
The real ugliness is people who are ugly on the inside. Then they go around and make everyone feel ugly. Those are the people that you have to ignore. You, April, Are one of my favorite Beautiful people.

Because God doesn’t look at us and think, “Her nose is too big.” or “His hair should be red.” or “She should be a little taller, maybe then she would be beautiful.” God gave our bodies to us as gifts, and that’s how we should look at our bodies. Moreover, He looks past our bodies and sees how we look on the inside, how we act, how we treat others, what we say, what we think. Because in the long run, that’s all that will matter.
I really love these lyrics from a song some of my friends wrote …
“Our skin will rot and decompose
and we will become one of those
where all the worms have made their homes
but all our names will be in stone.”
That sounds a little morbid, but just think about it for a moment. In the end, we die and our bodies our either buried or cremated. Any perfect cheek bones will disappear, her “perfect” lips will vanish, and his big, blue eyes will be no more. However, our names – what we did in life, how we acted, what we said, how we treated others, and our memories will be around forever. That’s the point those lyrics are meant to make.
While people tend to look at themselves and think, “My nose is too big.” or “If only my eyes were green.” or “I should have blonde hair.” we don’t think about how God sees us. He created our bodies, He made your nose special, He colored your eyes green, or blue, or brown, He gave you whatever hair color you have, and none of it was a mistake. He looks at us and says, “Look at that beautiful young woman. I created her.”
He calls us His masterpieces, so maybe we are the ones who should see ourselves in that light, too. It’s not about the painting … It’s about the painter.
Take care!!!

I Truly believe that those to whom God gave a fair face took away some of the special talents that that person would had had if they had not been so pretty. And us ugly people He expects great things from you because of what He gave them in other ways.
Each person has a different talent. We can’t all be preachers, or teachers so much do other things.

God loves everyone because He is not flesh. If you read ISAIAH 53:2 it talks about what Jesus looked like in terms of features; (2) For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. The world paints Jesus as having long blond hair, blue eyes, and handsome that is far from the truth. Search the scriptures….you will learn truth.

Does equal love mean equal material things? Does Love = material things?
How sad for you if you equate those 2 things as equal.
Maybe its HUMAN failings which treat each other uncharitably or play favortism to those who are more beautiful. Maybe you have just hit on another shortcoming of MAN and not God.
Love is about a feeling, not a material thing.
ALSO, God has the power to give us different but equal gifts.
Lastly, MAYBE God let’s genetics run its course and loves us despite how we look. OR doesn’t even SEE us as less beautiful, but sees us ALL equal in his mind. Maybe it is only humans that see difference, judge harshly, and treat differently.

Because the ones blessed with so-called ‘beauty’ often has issues, whereas the ‘unattractive’ ones have more confidence and better personalities. Granted, few have both the beauty and personality, but I’m sure they are all hanging out in here passing out the thumbs up to me….

god does love everybody equally and there is reason why God made you he way he did……
now why?
i don’t know. only god knows why and he will tell you what your purpose is when the time comes.

It’s in the ‘Stars’;
Everybody is Beautiful, society has ‘defined’ outer “Beauty”…..!!

I believe that we are all dealt with different obstacles to learn from. Yes we are equal but, different.

Also, why did he make different cults, er religions that all claim to be “the true way?”
EDIT- crusader: If it is all about the next life, then why are you still here??
August 3rd, 2009 at 6:45 pm
I don’t think god has anything to do with it as genetics holds that power.
