How Many Layers To The Glass Ceiling Did John Mccain Add Last Night When He Belittled Women Over “health”?

in regards to abortion and whether it should be allowed?
To me, the abortion issue is simple and McCain would be smart to follow Barry Goldwater’s ideology, in which it isn’t any of the government’s business what an individual does with their body.
Obama sounded more like Goldwater than McCain ever has.

Several layers were added, along with a ball and chain.
If Obama sounded like Goldwater it is because the party of fiscal conservatism/freedom that Goldwater represented has moved so far to the extreme, radical right that it is unrecognizable.
Obama represents more freedom and fiscal responsibility that McCain, with his obvious God complex, ever will. The old man is off the reservation thinking he has God-like powers over women. He is the Archer Maggott of our times.

I like some things about John McCain but he lost me last night with the dismissive wave of his hand and derisive facial expression regarding women’s health. What????
I guess McCain really was talking to Joe the plumber last night cause he sure wasn’t talking to Rosie the Riveter!
I also did not feel impressed that Sarah Palin’s qualifications to be President of the United States should it come to that include that he is very, very proud of her and that her husband is a pretty tough guy. When is the last time a man was touted as qualified to be president because his wife was, well, er, anything? Oh yeah, like, never!
But that paled really in the face of discovering that if my daughter were in the second half, say, of a pregnancy that became life threatening to continue, she would have to go get a risky illegal abortion should McCain have his way because she could not be trusted with legal protection of her health. No wonder he picked Palin as a running mate – Palin who’s Wasilla administration required rape victims to pay for their own forensic test – a cost of about twelve hundred dollars. And recent evidence shows that Palin played a direct role in this travesty.
    Thanks for asking the question!

Why is it “out of touch” with the public simply because he has convictions that others don’t have? Was it “out of touch” for Lincoln to support the abolition of slavery when the better part of America thought the government should mind its own business?
Someone has to defend those who don’t have a voice. McCain won’t get my vote, but he has my respect for having the bravery to declare his support for an unpopular point of view. (Obama won’t get my vote either; that man has no convictions other than the desire to get elected.)

  4. Nagabhat Says:

Actually, it is true that “health” is a pretty broad concept and can be stretched.
Also, in my opinion a baby is not part of a woman’s body. Although I have no problem with early abortions.
    p.s. Answering Caldude1010101′s Additoinal Details:
Although I do not think that an embryo is a person, I think that an eight-month-old fetus IS a person. And is certainly a whole lot more than just a part of a woman’s body. Why is THAT so difficult for some people to grasp?

  5. hammer Says:

I don’t think he belittled women. He was backing up is opinion on the subject. I agree with him for the most part, if a woman gets pregnant and can’t take care of the kid, instead of killing it, it should be delivered and given up for adoption. Rape is the only circumstance that changes my opinion on the matter. Why is this a bad thing? And why is a good thing for any woman in the world to get knocked up whenever she wants and just abort it?

  6. carolina s Says:

what about the right of those babies .they didnt ask to be concieved.its pure and simple its murder..and if if say its not then what about the women who kills thier children do they have the right hell no murder is murder.I say if its life threating to the mother and she is in her early stage that makes a different..but for a woman to get pregant and because she doesnt wont the baby then that is murder.you sick *** people no wonder our country is where it is today .I hope God will forgive all of you murderers

  7. Robin P Says:

There are so many layers of lies on this man, but bigotry will always shine through in the cracks. Unfortunately for McCain it happened at the worst possible time, in front of tens of millions of people. How any thinking woman would ever vote republican is unfathomable to me.

  8. julietta Says:

You know what, if it isn’t the goverments business what we do with our own bodies, why do we get in trouble if we choose not to wear a seatbelt or do drugs or try to commit suicide. Huh?? Arggg.
I agree though, we should be able to do what we want with our own bodies.

  9. Elaine G Says:

None. McCain is 1) a lame duck and out of office in Arizona once his term is up and 2) a losing presidential candidate.
His talk about women – the economy – anything – means very little to anyone outside the McCain campaign.

  10. Dustin Says:

This will turn into an ugly abortion argument where a bunch of wackos on Yahoo answers screen baby killers, but the most important thing that his statement taught us is that he is out of touch with 80% of America. This is why he will be losing in 2 weeks.

  11. sweetpea Says:

I didn’t glean that at all from what he said.
More support for unwed mothers? Adoptions increased…that is not a bad thing. That doesn’t sound threatening to me.
By the way it isn’t just the woman’s body involved here…what about the baby’s body??

  12. ilovebob Says:

It’s hypocritical. McCain blasts Obama for wanting government run healthcare saying that the government shouldnt have control over what insurance you have but then thinks that the government should tell you you have to have a baby.

  13. Jack Says:

The first step losing the right of owning your body the second is to lose the right to think for oneself. Simple as that anyone should see it.

  14. Country First Always Says:

It’s also none of YOUR business what you do with your childs body. You can’t just kill it because you don’t want it.

  15. That Guy Says:

It was not an attack at women, rather was an attack at legislatures and lawyers!

  16. Wounded Duck Says:

None, if you don’t elect him. “Health” can mean anything! Somebody buy the old guy a clue, please.

  17. Johnny Knoxville Says:

    Amen brother!!!

  18. ATJ Says:

If you think murdering children insults women I will pray for you!

  19. pepperg Says:

just proving again that he’s out of touch. does he realize that us women are allowed to vote now???
