Its NOT a cervical cancer vaccine. Rather its an HPV vaccine. HPV is an std that is linked to cervical cancer.
You can still get the shot if you have had sex…. But it wont be effective if you already have the four types of hpv that are protected against in the shot. HPV (or atleast the types protected against in the shot) is something that nearly everyone who has had sex has contracted. And that is why they want you to get it before you have sex… so that you have it before you have the chance to actually get the virus.
