It is possible, but extremely rare. However, there are normal growth-related changes that can create lumps in the breasts (such as fibrocysts and fibroadenomas) that are not cancerous. Only a health professional can tell for sure, so it’s still a good idea to have any lumps checked out. And all females should perform monthly breast self-examinations. If you start young, you can learn what is normal for your breasts and you’ll know if something does happen later in life.

talk to your doctor. new studies show that there are also environmental factors that contribute to a person’s risk of breast cancer.

It’s possible at any age. Don’t worry too much, I’m 18 and I’m not worried.
“The probability of breast cancer rises with age but breast cancer tends to be more aggressive when it occurs in younger women.”

Breast buds cause alarm for a lot of young girls. You are just developing…that is what those bumps and lumps are honey.

The first question to ask yourself is “what is making you ask?” Did you find something abnormal that worries you? If so, it’s worth checking out. However, you also don’t need to get yourself worked up thinking “cancer” right away. It could be something simple like a clogged gland, a simple infection, or fatty deposit. The important thing is, if you’re worried about it, talk to a parent or teacher you trust.

I do not think so, at thirteen your breast is just developing.
You should worry later on. And you should worry when your older, if there´s somebody in your family who had suffered cancer or if you haven´t breastfeed you baby.

What has brought you to ask this question? If it is something you have read or heard some where than all you need to do is conduct a self exam right now, and your health care provider can show you and even has a cool fake breast that will show you what to look for. If you came to this question because you found something that bothers you than set up an appointment right away to have it examined, and don’t be shy. There is another exam you can perform on your self and although most teens are not informed of it, and often are told not even to touch it, is one to check for cervical cancer. This is far more common in teens, I found my own lump at 15 and that prompted me to ask questions, but teens should have regular paps to check for this. But in between you can check for abnormalities your self, by getting to know your own body. There is lots of information available on how to check and what to check for, if you have any questions my email is available.
