Can Drinking Hot Water Left In Your Car Really Lead To Breast Cancer?
Is this a myth or a fact? I heard some people talking about it today and I was just wondering if anyone else had heard this?

No, it’s an urban myth/legend, originating from a hoax email that was widely circulated last year.
These links give the facts behind these rumours/hoaxes about plastic water bottles and breast cancer. Sheryl Crow is supposed to have claimed on Oprah that this is what caused her breast cancer, As you’ll see, Oprah Winfrey’s company, Harpo, denies that Sheryl Crow ever made those remarkshttp://urbanlegends.about.com/od/medical…http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/pet…
This is the third time in about 16 hours this has been asked on here; is the email circulating again?

I haven’t heard of it.
Though, a favorite quote, love, is:
You can live to 100 if you stop doing all the things that make you want to live to 100″.

if the weather is hot enough to melt the plastic water bottle there may be a chance of you getting cancer from the radiation!

Plastic is said to leech carcinogens, especially when heated or frozen. *shrugs*

no, they make up so much **** & say it leads to cancer. like seriously, it won’t.
September 1st, 2009 at 12:55 pm
i hope not, i do it all the time. I really doubt it, it doesn’t make any sense.

there’s no way this is true. how could it be?
September 1st, 2009 at 6:11 pm
Yes, Sheryl Crow got it that way.

It’s a myth. I’m so tired of getting that stupid email. You can read about it below:

its silly drink your water

Depends on the brand and how long it was in the car
September 2nd, 2009 at 5:36 am
this happened to Sheryl Crow. It is because plastic water bottles are surrounded by well, plastic, when it is in your car some of the sides sort of melt into the water. the same can happen with freezing a waterbottle, when it freezes it freezes to the sides, and when it melts, some comes off. there are SO many things about plastic that can cause cancer
September 2nd, 2009 at 10:25 am
yes it can and it will. its tempting but dont do it!
September 2nd, 2009 at 11:59 am
um, no… why would it?
September 2nd, 2009 at 1:07 pm
Myth
September 2nd, 2009 at 5:51 pm
Heard the same. I to wonder if it is true.
I was told some like…the water absorbs the chemicals the the plastic bottle is made of.

if it did i wouldn’t be here to answer this. old i am and i did it all my life

Its not the water its the plastic bottle that causes worries. You can drink hot water all you want.
I think the threat is what happens to those plastics once they are heated up over time and then into your water, then body.
But, I don’t think there are any strong facts that support the long term effects of drinking warm plastic water…. But it just doesn’t seem like a great idea.
With that said, if a bottle of water is in your car for a day and its warm… its not going to kill ya.

Of course it’s a myth. That’s ridiculous.

almost everything gives u cancer but a bottle of warm water wont instantly ud have to drink like gallons over time
September 3rd, 2009 at 2:18 pm
i shouldn’t think so? anyway, drinking warm water is better than cold- it’s better for you and less shock to your insides

if the water was left in a plastic bottle and the sun heated the plastic bottle relatively the water would have been contaminated with the plastic substance, if this is a regular habit offcourse will have a side effect, but if it hapen couple of times a month or a year, i guess you can get away with it.. my advise : don’t drink water that was left behind,,, you never know….good luck…and hope that would have helped
